AFTER TWO SEASONS EMMA POOLEY RETURNS TO THE SUCCESS IN CITTIGLIO. THE BRITISH TIME TRIAL WORLD CHAMPION WON THE FIRST STAGE OF WORLD CUP
Emma Pooley was fantastic in Cittiglio today, just like two years ago when, in the same way, she enchanted the same finish line, the finish line of the Trofeo Alfredo Binda, the finish line of the World Cup. Today the British World Time Trial Champion took off 52km from the start, after an initial splitting of the pack which occurred on the first ascent into Orino. Pooley was particularly happy with the Valcuvia part of the race “I prepared well during the winter in Australia and I’m in good shape now” explained the English athlete, wearing the winning t-shirt of the UCI challenge with joy. Pooley’s advantage swung between two and three minutes during the race and in the end she finished two minutes ahead. The Swedish cyclist Emma Johansson (Hitec) took second place, beating nineteen other riders in the final sprint, among whom Italian Elena Berlato (Top Girl Fassa Bortolo), who came in twelfth overall.
