WOMEN'S WORLD CUP GALA EVENING, TOMORROW IN LAVENO MOMBELLO

Tomorrow evening promises to be a special one at the Gala to present the 16th Trofeo Alfredo Binda, second stage of the Women's World Cup 2014 which will take place on Sunday 30 March. Starting at 18:30, tomorrow, 22 February, authorities, sponsors and journalists will preview the programme for the event organised by Cycling Sport Promotion.

The presentation will be held in the splendid Villa De Angeli Frua in Laveno Mombello (Varese), during an evening for invited guests, which will be filled with interest, thanks to the participation of numerous figures from the cycling world. The guest of honour will be federal President Renato Di Rocco, together with Rossella Ratto, world bronze medalist élite at the Florence World Championships 2013, and Angelo Zomegnan, President of the Organising Committee of the Tuscany World Championships, and manager of the Giro d’Italia from 2004 to 2011.  

“This year our presentation will be very special - says Mario Minervino, President of Cycling Sport Promotion -. Considering that our event has received the support of Expo 2015, we have decided to highlight its central theme, focusing on the importance of using local food produce. So our guests will have the opportunity to savour a range of "farm-to-table" dishes, thanks to a new agreement reached with Area21 Laghi". At the preview, apart from official confirmation of the teams which will participate on Sunday, 30 March, the Trofeo Da Moreno-Memorial Ersilio Ferrario, for junior women, which will precede the élite race, will also be presented. During the evening tomorrow, there will be a presentation of a trophy dedicated to the memory of Vito Badalin, the first person to organise a women's race in Cittiglio, back in 1974.
