TROFEO BINDA 2014 WILL BE ATTENDED BY THE ORGANIZERS OF THE “TOUR OF CHONGMING WORLD CUP” 

On Sunday 30 March, in the province of Varese, the Trofeo Alfredo Binda, second stage of the Women's World Cup, will be held. For years this has been the event in the first part of the female athlete's calendar in Italy. The Road World Cup will start in the Netherlands with the Ronde Van Drenthe and after Cittiglio will continue on to Belgium, China, Germany and Sweden, before the grand final which will take place in France. Nine races will establish the success of this competition which began in 1998 and has become the most important event after the World Champtionships and the Olympics. As always, at the Trofeo Binda in Varese, some of the other World Cup organizers will be present and this year is no exception, with Cittiglio welcoming very special guests: the organizers of the Tour of Chongming, the Chinese stage of the UCI challenge, scheduled to take place on 18 May next. The Chinese delegation will consist of six representatives of the Organizing Committee, each responsible for a different aspect (technical issues, administration, logistics, communication etc): “We are delighted to welcome our Chinese friends to Italy, they organize a fantastic event in Chongming County, an island near Shanghai, which had its first year in 2010. We will arrange a very special welcome for them" declared Mario Minervino, president of Cycling Sport Promotion – "collaboration between organizers is very important for the development of the international female cycling movement”.
