THE MOST IMPORTANT ROLE IS RESERVED FOR CHILDREN, WITH MANY INITIATIVES DEDICATED TO THEM

The remarkable work done by Mario Minervino and his team is producing many effects in the province of Varese. The Trofeo Alfredo Binda is the second round of the Women's World Cup 2012 and is the most important event of the beginning of the year for sports enthusiasts, cyclilsts, youth, adults, associations, institutions and sponsors. Every year the best female athletes in the world participate in the Women's World Cup. The race takes place in Valcuvia and promises strong emotions. Parallel events will be organised to promote a race that has a huge international impact, thanks to the participation of the same cyclists who will be centre-stage at the world championships and the Olympics. The best feature of this year's World Cup is that it will offer a preview of the challenges faced by the athletes who will compete for the gold medal at the Olympics in London in July and August. The first public event to introduce the Trofeo Alfredo Binda program will be held on 6 February in Luino with primary and middle school kids. This presentation will be followed by three  similar events to be held in Cittiglio, Laveno and Cunard: "We are proud of this choice - said Mario Minervino, President of Cycling Sport Promotion - we are starting with the enthusiasm and joy that children always show for cycling. They are the future people, athletes and leaders who will one day continue the task of organizing this race. I am sure that we will be inspired by the children's vivacity when organizing the competition this time." Following the children, the calendar of events will feature local institutions and sporting authorities. On 16 February, there will be a meeting in Villa Frua in Laveno with the GAL and the "Route of Flavours". On 25 February there will be the Gala Dinner to present the World Cup. The evening will take place in Ternate Montelago. On 3 March the fourth edition of "Bici & Mimosa", the debate between athletes past and present, will be held. At the event, a gold mimosa will be presented in recognition of a particular commitment in women's cycling. On 20 March Cycling Sport Promotion will present the final details of the Trofeo Binda at Villa Recalcati in Varese. On that occasion the list of participating teams and registered athletes will be announced. On Saturday 24 March Cittiglio will host the preliminary events which will introduce the day of the big race. But that's not all. After the World Cup, Cycling Sport Promotion will organize other important events for cyclists of all ages, between April and October.
