CYCLING FOR RECYCLING |
WITH THE PATRONAGE OF
For sheer excellence, cycling is the sport that stands out for being environmentally aware, those who enjoy cycling chase their dreams in a setting that is constantly changing, in a succession of emotions and colours. With cycling, the environment is an integral part of the sport and for this reason the cyclist stands out for his/her respect for the territory. The protection of the environmental and promotion of the territory thus become the heritage that characterizes the cycling movement, starting with the most prominent event organizers. ReCycling is the label with which the International Cycling Union (UCI) emphasizes cycling's top prerogatives, with competitions looking to the future with enthusiasm and awareness. Cycling Sport Promotion is approaching the Women's World Cup, scheduled for Sunday 25 March in Cittiglio (Varese), and will join with the UCI in their ReCycling project to organise an event which promises to be the first of its kind in Italy, aimed at proposing UCI cycling events as opportunities to promote and develop the region. What better event than the one organized by Mario Minervino and his team, Cycling Sport Promotion. The project has been given full marks by the UCI which, in the regions of lnella Valcuvia and the Verbano valleys, has identified the first favorable opportunity for the launch of the initiative which, from now on, will distinguish the most attentive organizers. The Varese region, with its typical products, natural assets and culture of respect for the environment can be proud of the recognition the UCI reserves for organizations which distinguish themselves for the sustainability of their events: "In these four years of organizing events, we have always paid attention to new proposals by the UCI - said Mario Minervino. - We have participated with great enthusiasm in projects on safety, structures, signage and communication, always with successful results. Now we will focus on the environment, an issue we care about in particular. The "ReCycling" project will certainly be a difficult and challenging one, but I'm sure my able colleagues will do their best to get yet another result, giving rise to a new organizational style aimed at safeguarding the environment." ![]() Watch the website section www.uci.ch
